Mary Chase (Fortini)
Mary Chase, (nee Fortini), born November 7, 1916 in Yonkers NY. Resident of Yonkers until moving to Mt. Vernon in 1967, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary, her two beloved Raymond's, husband Ray, and son Raymond J. Chase, as well as brothers, Anthony, Louis and Philip. She is survived by her treasured grandson Justin, and delightful twin great granddaughters Celia and Sarah, as well as step daughters Barbara and Marilyn. Equally adored by her are an extended family of nieces and nephews. Mary will be greatly missed as she was always the family glue, offering her invaluable advice, whether solicited or not. She was truly the embodiment of a matriarch, and the memory of her fun loving spirit, resilient willpower, dedication to her friends and family, infectious laugh, and second to none eggplant and meatballs will warm the hearts of all she leaves behind. She is surely making Sunday dinner for all of her friends and family in Heaven! In lieu of flowers, kindly donate to a charity of your choice in her honor. Visitation will be Monday 10 am to noon at Yannatuonno Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home, 584 Gramatan Ave, Mt. Vernon, with interment to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale.
