Christopher Doherty
Christopher Doherty of Yonkers
passed away peacefully surrounded by his family
on February 21, 2018. Christopher was born on
December 18, 1928 to John and Maggie Ellen
Doherty in Ireland. On June 11, 1955 Christopher
married his loving wife Kathleen in London
England. Christopher worked for New York City
as a civil service carpenter until his retirement in
1999 and was a member of the Bricklayers Union
and Carpenters Union. He was extremely Proud
to Be an American. Christopher was a very gentle
man who loved Ireland, Gaelic Football, Guinness,
his garden and most of all his Wife and family.
Christopher is survived by his wife of 62 years
Kathleen, beloved children Paul Doherty (Eileen),
Marian Williams (Gerwyn), Christopher Doherty
(Maureen), Margaret Cardamona (Robert), Dermot
Doherty (Austria) and Kieran Doherty (Vera),
grandchildren Gerard, Dominic, Caitlin, Christopher,
Alanna, Ailish, Aoife, Victoria, Kyle, James,
Brendan Kathryn, Joao Pedro, brothers Harold,
Desmond, sisters Phyllis, Denise and Irene and
many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Christopher
is predeceased by his brothers John Francis,
Vincent and sisters Mary, Kathleen. A celebration
of Christopher’s life will be held at the funeral
home on Monday 4-8 pm. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be held on Tuesday at St. Anthony’s
Church in Yonkers at 10am. In lieu of flowers
donations may be made to Calvary Hospice.
